Can't avoid the tutorial with a new character!

I've returned to the game today to have another look at it, having played it for a short while when it first launched. I've created a new account with the boxed version of N2.

When I create a character I'm given the option of playing the tutorial. If I decline, I revert to the character screen with my new character lost and all slots empty. If I accept, but exit the tutorial I also revert to the character screen with the character lost and all slots empty.

Have I really got to play all the way through the tutorial to enable my character to be saved or can I get round this problem and just create a character and enter the game?

Make sure you're selecting the server you made the character on. I thought I was experiencing the same thing you are until I figured out I neglected to select the appropriate server.

it works fine for meh :P I made a droner...now with 1 hit kills droners kick ass

Thanks, I logged in anew and found my character there.

It doesn't explain why when a character is created and you opt not to play the tutorial you are thrown back to an empty character screen, but perhaps that'll get picked up on and fixed some time.
