First of all I’d like to thank you for the patience you showed. Unfortunately, you will need a lot more of it, because we were victim of an extreme data failure – uuh, is anyone still there?

Kidding aside – The gates are now open, the server „Quan – Public Testserver“ is now available for the public test phase. Oh – only for the record – isn’t this the 49th calendar week?
What you have on your hard drive now is a bunch of ideas that should noticeably improve the comfort of your virtual lives – ideas that have been discussed, tested and weighed in many discussions (internally and of course with you). With only one goal: each class in Neocron should have its own advantages and disadvantages, should provide its own flavor of enjoyment and work differently in combination with other classes or specs. The one combination that „owns them all“ may be good for the Christmas business – but over time it’s fairly boring!
The changes awaiting you may not please everyone in the same way – however these are changes that we think will give back some form of fairness to all classes, which everyone should be able to profit from in the end. If an opponent uses an option I was not prepared for, I’ll have to do more of an effort next time to find the appropriate counter (skill setup, weapon, combination of classes, tactics, ...) against it – in the first moment that may be frustrating, because one isn’t used to it. At a later point, it will hopefully be a challenge to also catch the other guy on the wrong foot sometime.
Many, many things have been dismantled to evaluate and reassemble them again. Loads of ideas have been implemented – again thanks to the NC team and all of you – that should make the game much more balanced. We have also implemented many arrangements that allow us to quickly react to any misdirected developments. We have included a new system that, if it works well, allows us to add new content, new weapons, new implants, new armor, new vehicles, new... to the game without endangering the balance. This system has already be used a lot – while we couldn’t fulfill every wish, we did for many!
Despite all the euphoria (which I really appreciate), you shouldn’t forget that this is a test server. It is our goal to find out if all the changes to the game mechanics have been performed correctly and whether they reached the desired effects (or at least go in the right direction). Therefore we need opinions that as objective as possible and exclusively constructive criticism to evaluate the changes.
We want to keep up the exchange over the forums during the test server phase. To that effect, we have prepared a series of threads that should allow target-oriented communication between you and us. However, we only want to start with these topics in a good week – you can use the time until then to intensively check out the new items, to adjust your skill setups and most of all we want to allow you to take the time to take in and test the rather considerable amount of changes. We consider that a discussion will only make sense and be frutiful for both sides once this has been done.
In case you should be bored until then, try the changed Ionic Shotgun Pistol or the new DoY HH4x4 Combat Chaincraft – you can really kill some time with those ...
