We have created a thread for each weapon category in Neocron to allow easy communication between you and us. Here you can post your first impressions, experiences and suggestions. You can also ask us about changes – for bugs related to the combat area please use this [link] thread.

You will find updates to these threads in the original post as well as in the normal post list – that way you can easily keep yourselves up to date or participate in the discussion.

As we are currently in the Christmas period, we will from time to time present a new „toy“ that you should check out.

As a PPU player, I like most of the changes.

The PPU role in PvP has become more defense support oriented, an exception being HAB but that seems mostly designed for countering enemy PPUS.

The 25% foreign cast shields are useful in PvP , while not overpowered, BUT they currently arent sufficient to allow classes reach their resist caps which is more noticable an issue for PvE.

Raising the foreign cast % would allow the caps to be reached, but would also make offensive PPUS more important as you would need HAB to fight anyone who is buffed in PvP.

Thus a solution might be to instead raise the defense values added by the holy resist boosters significantly in order to help PvE (for example from 25 to 100)

another issue atm....

PPU self-defense is just way too high compared to others..... I can easily spec to achieve 92% resist vs energy/fire/pierce simultaneously , with about 88% vs the remainder......main reason is the rare self-shields are giving 85% right away vs everything before you even spec any armor/con.

All other classes struggle to reach 70% vs anything atm, even with foreign support.

If others could realisticly achieve their resist caps also, maybe this would be less of an issue.

This is also partly balanced by the high shield decay rates , but I think we would be better off with lower base shields (75 instead of 85) , then maybe lower decay a bit instead.

Decay hurts non-ppus much more atm, since overcasting/refresh to bypass decay is a lot easier to manage for self shields, and lower strength shields have a lower margin for dmg/decay changes.....

Example: My PPU can shand in plaza1 with 4-5 copbots shooting , every 60 sec just overcast absorber to retain a 92% overall.........and can survive indefinitely.

Reason: with just a 75% absorber he STILL caps energy 92%, this allows him to have his shield decay from 85 to 75 before he has any increase in dmg = plenty of time to overcast.

Remember every item on the test server is fully artifact, so not _everyones_ defence will be this high.

And as said before shield decay helps, if a ppu wants to spend all his time refreshing his shields and not doing much for others, sure he should be hard to kill, but if he wants to ppu for multiple players, his defense will drop.

I also think that forigin shields should be more powerful but have a faster decay, hence a ppu can keep up 1 player very well but is not able to keep up 2 the same way.

Likes: 3 shields instead of 2, Full runcast ability, smaller rezz circle, shields override foreign cast

Dis-Likes: Shields become foreign cast on zoning, heals work past zonelines, every new "anti" (we used to joke about a Holy Bucket of Water), antibuff, long lasting heals, para sanctum, db sanctum, loss of combat booster, the best glove to use really isn't the gaya, PA takes away from focussing
