View Full Version : Ionic Shotgun Weapons
ionic shotgun weapons seem to have a slight para effect to them, not sure if this is intentional.
Also, they seem to do an excessive amount of damage, but its my guess that its in its place on the balancing scale but in damage types people aren't concentrating on.
It could be that it's because of the damage, if your body damage indicator even starts to go grey, you start to slow down, even if the damage isn't to your legs...
Maybe that's what your seeing..

Even slight dmg to your head or torso causes heavy speed reductions. The ion weapons do do high damage, I have equal armours in all armour types but they still hurt me a lot.
Well I dunno bout the other ion weps...but I think the dmg for the ionic shotgun pistol is justified....because the reticle is sorta slow to close and after one shot you have to reload the wep so it takes a long time to fire off two shots. So it seems pretty balanced...high dmg\really low freq time

Low aiming speed (comparitive) for me doesn't cut it as a balancing effect. It doesn't actually balance the power of the weapon and gives high skilled players too much of advantage.
it does good damage. its a different damage type that most folks havnt specced for yet. it doesnt hurt my spys as much as it hurts alot of others ive shot with it. and the reticle is too slow on the ion weapons. if u fight a melee tank with good speed ull never hit em
skill some piercing and force.. my spy only takes like 260- 300 dmg of one shot. thats not too bad i think :)
yeah the ionic weapons can do around 500 pierce damage (item description) and around 100 xray and 200? of poison or w/e mod. which if you compare this to others, is normal for its freq, but damage types that aren't specced for as much. especially the piercing.

Known bug.
(happens with all weapons)
Hitbox is calculated wrong sometimes, so that you get slowered down, because the server thinks you are hit in the legs. We will fix that with the upcoming testserver upgrade.
