All in all my general impressions are, that I don't like/enjoy the game as I used to enjoy 2.1, and here are the reasons I think is the fault:

1. There is a very big gap in speed in the game. That is, even we run even faster now than we used to in 2.1, yet everything else is slowed down to slideshow speeds. Reticles close slow, PSI spells cast slow and are unresponsive, giving a lot of stress to the caster; guns fire slow and given the high speeds and slow reticle closing times, this creates long duration fights which are also very stressful. All in all I am very disappointed with those issues

2. There are still balancing issues with classes. Like Pantho already showed, Hybrids are totally out of control, easily followed by pistol PEs.

3. Apus are very nerfed

4. Some good ideas with new guns (ion pistol very cool for instance)

About 1. Yeah, pvp can sometimes take about 45 seconds to one minute. And if you are fighting a hybrid maybe 1-2 minutes which is pretty boring and brings the whole asian MMO concept in (RF Online).

About 2. I TOLD YOU GUYS that weapons were not the concern, it was the shit that most people decided not to stick around for that would be the overpowered stuff.

About 3. Apus are worthless. You are doing only a minimal more amount of damage vs. a hybrid, you arn't self healing, and even having a ppu on you won't keep you god mode.

Apus have really no value, I wouldn't call it a nerf but...
I had a hybrid that could take 2-3 people give or take a bit of work
Apu got killed as quick as a spy, a nice laugh for some other players...

About 4. VERY good idea. Way to really stick it Jini. I thought the idea of incorporating new weapons into the game brought freshness.

Things to note: you slow down pvp, you make some nerfed to the point of laughing and some to the point of god mod, you add new weapons, implants, and change the game to add complexity.

Tell me this, GM or people with opinions...with what Jini mentioned and what was implied, do you believe the risk of blowing the game to hell vs. making it incredible worth all this work?

We could have had a new engine or brought new loot in, or done some really cool things. Bad time to make a move like this. Even if this game becomes the next big thing, I know atleast 20 people who jumped ships to WoW.

I didn't jump ships, playing both still.

We're still bug fixing atm so don't get hung up over relative strengths of classes or weapons; they're still to be worked on when the underlying platform is ready.

Nid, I don't care less about the guns. I know you will eventually balance them. But I do care -and this is important- about the general speed concept and how you guys are receiving it.

Frequency in guns is not just another number that relates directly to DoT. Frequency relates -and this is most important factor for pvp- to SYNCING your moves or "dodges" to how fast you run and how fast you aim and shoot to hit again. We have to finally conclude on some principles, or we will get a game that has lost its shine, in the name of balance.

Why does a beretta shoots faster than a xbow?

I'm in love with the new weapons (Yup, all of them) especially the ionic pistol, rifle and new grenade launcher.
I agree that reticules do close too slowly and don't close far enough for certain weapons, especially cannons still.
As for the new resist system, it's sooo new and confusing - I just don't know what's what with it anymore. This will all be figured out eventually but at the moment it's just frustrating.
Drones - big problem. I can spec 200+ in both droning stats and never fail to wipe several people out with one revenge. Although I did kami the same person with an inventory full of revenge drones, doing no damage at all.. They're insanely fast too.
WoC Pistol PEs and hightec pistol PEs are too strong, while lowtech weapons are just not doing enough damage.

Also, there seem to be no KKs on the test server. At least not in the Neocronstruct where they're needed. If they aren't going to be on, could a WoC giving NPC be implemented?
The only GM or KK I've seen recently is Mokoi, bless his cotton socks :p

Finally, although these changes are somewhat fairly radical, I'm going to give it a chance and stick around for the final version.

Uh... a semi-auto pistol shouldn't shoot more quickly than a weapon that you have to pull back against the bow mechanism, slot and notch a round in, and then shoot?
