Tiberious and I tested rifle spies vs heavy combat tanks, atm my tank has errr 140-145 resists, his spy has 90 resist, (i think) i had 50% health, when he died, first love vs cursed soul.

It springs to mind that perhaps spies require nano technology to stay alive?
If KK intend that tanks and kill spies that easily 1on1 then they are just unbalancing the game they way I see the classes is as follows:

Attack/Defense
90/10 APU
70/30 Spy
50/50 PE
30/70 Tank
0/95 PPU (Note they have no attack but not 100% defense because they are not invisible)

What the above means is that in theory an apu has 1/7th the defenses and health of a gentank but triple the damage, so that it is simply another style of fighting!

Oh and I am really not liking 2.2 it seems very poorly thought through

and me and my kickass rifle spy are patiently awaiting the implementation of nanotechnology. I think it will drastically help spies.

Thats kinda my point. why start the test server when thinks arent complete? If spies need nano, then you cant test them, if monks need whatever you cant test them etc etc.. Thats my point, atm it's not a test server it's a useless hunk of junk! Until they finish adding things in.

Thats why I stopped "testing" things until they have a closer to retail version. I can wait though :angel:

I see the classes is as follows:

You can throw out most of that , its really not like this at all anymore, the most accurate balancing concept I have found atm relates only to the classes dmg outputs.

ie:

-APU Weapons 100 %
-Cannons 90 %
-Rifles 80 %
-Pistols 75 %
-Melee Weapons 65 %


Thus at equal TLs and skills , a cannon will now outdmg a rifle or pistol. In theory tanks are now as good as the others in dmg dealing. What hasnt been tweaked yet is the defensive balancing aspects.

Reality however in neocron implies, that as soon as new content is in (be it nanos or whatever), there is an inrush of people trying, testing having fun. Therefore we will all run once a new patch is out in TS ;)

But didnt they say that tanks should soak up damage but deal not as much? I guess i missed something in the discussion forums, i didn't realise tanks where going to take more and deal more damage compaired with rifle and pistol spys/pes. that doesn't really make sense.

Also, if a Rifle spy could stand still and take, the same amount of hits from a Tank - As the tank could from him - It would be fucked.

Tanks, are Tanks - Great big fuckers that deal and take damage- They well Tank.

By changing this, we are going to be fucking up the whole of the concepts/idea/Background of the game-

The idea is a rifle spy is supposed to be faster, stealthy , sneaky - And use Gadgets instead of brute force to kick your ass.

Stealt up, suprise behind ur ass, and unload the first love into your sweet ass...

Seriously, Spies are ment to be stealth whores basically

i fully agree to that!

beside monks shouldnt be the overpowerds and standing every with holy buffs. see back the storyline for that. tanks should tank. no apus to tank!

I messed it up!?!
You were the one that done my set up ;p

It seems to me that its harder to get a good spy set up now.
I have 2 implants that give me -15 athletics each and they are both implants that are for rifle combat. Like pantho said rifle spys are ment to be FAST how can you be fast if you have to either sacrifice rifle combat or athletics? I personally associate the new mc5 distance projector with spies and also the same with the special forces cpu.

So basically you can either be one of the 2 rifle spies:

a very slow spy thats good with rifles with good resists.
a fast spy that can barely do damage with very poor resists.

I dont like either tbh :(

shouldnt it be the fast pistol-spys? when i look for rifles+pistols, i see the pistolguys running faster than rifles shooting.... err or something slower than pistols un running.

You can use a fairly strong rifle/pistol spy at just 105/106 dex, thus you can avoid the nasty athletics imps and focus on resist imps , ppr etc.

Remember, a spy has a self cast deflector and protector (fire/poison) but lacks a self-absorber (energy/xray) so you need a LOT of con in energy , like 75 base + the ppr. (the energy/xray underwear is probably also better defense wise then the xray only PAs.

noo noo . Sure they should be fast whithout a rifle out ... Ill agree with that -

They should also have less stealth capabalities...

They should only be slow with a weapon out, and should be ranged hunters -

Well you could use Absorber, but you have to use 2 drugs (Mushrooms and something else I cant recall) to boost Focussing.
