View Full Version : Kami drone Idea !
I just had an idea that makes kami drones skill dependant, not overpowered but still useful.
Ok, with this idea a kami drone now isn't just a launch, point, click, kill weapon. When you launch the drone, it has a lowtech (gatlin/assault type - weaker than a raptor, otherwise who'd use a raptor?) or hightec (laser/beam type - weaker than particle nemesis, same as raptor) gun with a standard amount of ammo. When this ammo is used up (therefore reaching 0%) the drone explodes causing enough damage to the target to kill them providing the droner hit them enough with the gun. This keeps this drone skill dependant, because you actually have to do a lot of the damage with the gun to be able to kill them with the explosion - 'kamikaze' part, removing the bam-dead-wtf-not-even-in-local thing because they can't just fly up to a target and kill them.
Criticism? Thoughts? I can't really see any flaws at the moment but someone might spot something I've missed.
I hate the idea...
I'd rather they just updated the netcode so the local list worked.
hm ... not bad but... ive got a better idea:
so u launch the kami and go searching for an enemy. but the kami cannot explode instantly, cause u have to hold the left mouse button like 10 seconds and then it explodes with the full amount of damage. so when u hold the trigger only 4 seconds, the kami only makes less then half the damage. BUT, when the 10 seconds are gone, the kami explodes, whereever it is.
this would require some skill of the rigger, cause he must think how long it takes to kill the enemy who maybe has only half hp anymore.
that would require a little status bar in the kami drone interface.
maybe sth. that should be implemented with evo2.2

Care to elaborate on why you don't like it...?
Ive always liked the idea of the Kamidrone not actually being what blows up. If any1 here has played Gears of War then you will know what the Hammer of Dawn is.
Basically the drone gets placed somewhere ( hidden maybe ) but it has to be stationary and when you hold the Fire button a beam will come out of the drone to whever is being targetted, the players in the area can also see the beam affect and maybe a few beeping noises. The drone must be stationary for about 5 seconds while the beam is targetting but if the drone moves the beam cancels. After the 5 seconds of the drone beign stationary the area that is being targetted explodes or wahetver causing massive AoE affect and then the drone itself destroys but causing no AoE affect at all.
This way you can avoid the area that is being targetted or you have 5 seconds to target the drone and destroy it. ( Make the drone very fragile )
OK, that's enough with the stupid ways to screw up another aspect of the game.
LEAVE THE DRONES ALONE
Get back on your monks and go para each other to boring death.
Wonder who's the droner
And i fucking hate monks :(
The 2 idea's are . sorry not really plausable -
in 2.2 . we all moan that Revenge drones are to overpowered... Not really...
In 2.1 Corner wall it will kill nearly ANY ppu...
2.2 -
Takes 2. in corner wall.
Its because we havnt learnt the full speccing of a character yet.... in 2.1 a Revenge droner on a a/20 will kill..... Because he has not setup/protection. Until we learn the 2.2 setups, a revenge will kill us all -
Granted maybe down. a small amount.
Silent000 us idea sucks.... you could destroy 2/3 drones in 5 seconds
Original idea... Dont like it.. a Gun on a revenge drone? Sucks
1-2 second Delay after clickign fire.. could add to abit of strategy for droning...
making them killable would always be a bonus... perhaps they should be decently slow instead of leathally fast... seeing as they should be carrying a large amount of explosives.

set the detonation timer... i like. this is a winner imo
adding onto that, the ammo bar slides down, 0 ammo = boom... and no self healing mechanism... thats blasphemy on something thats supposed to explode itself.
Natral selection... i was palying it before posting co_ with Sucide LETHAL! but needs to be timed
press and hold the fire button.. the kami should then relese a red light simmilar to that of a monk rezin. anybody around can see that light.
after 1-3 seconds the drone goes poof (because it builds up enough power to overload) and causes the same damage as it does now =\
thats my best fix
(oh and the llight should be paired with a high pitched wwwwooooWWWW00 \/\/ \/\/ \/\/ O O O sound)
quality of the drone depends on how fast it explodes. they should be slottable and have freq module able to be installed
how about just making them as slow/heavy as the other AoE drones? =p
I like the post made by ZoVoS, this way drones made from rares are actually useful. I don't know about adding slots to drones with mods but I think this would definately make rare drones something other than nothing. I like the idea of it having the rez animation too :D

I agree, though I'd say the same thing (with a longer timer) for stealth too.
My opinion is : People say Revenges are overpowered.....considering majority of people plays monks.....cause if you play a tank, the problem about revenges will not be the same.
Though yes might be good just to slow them down a bit to make them appear in local list and give us a chance to kill it.
I also like the idea of delay timer on kami drones.
Cya.

the kamikaze drones are fine,
If it ain't broken dont fix it!
this is why I stoped playing Star Wars Galigys coz they changed so much stuff around. in SWG i spent 7 months training to be jedi playing hours a day with no life and then 1 week after i get jedi they change the system so u can start as a rookie jedi on joining!!!!!
Kami drones are absolutely overpowered if not played by a noob
That's the problem, they're so easy to play how can you be a noob?
