Okay, so, being the vehicle addict I am, I hopped on and checked the new vehicles. I also had a go with some drones.
First thing I noticed was that the strength requirements had been raised to the 80s on most vehicles - gliders and trikes particularly. This doesn't help make a spy driver viable, as it was in NC2.1 if you selfnerfed somewhat (Note somewhat- i'm still a viable PvP character with drones)
I grabbed a handy gentank and hopped into a hoverbomber, and a rhino. Comparative to my tiny little drone, the hoverbomber did far less damage (~38 compared to ~140) and the rhino did likewise far less damage.
So I duly rolled a PE to try the gliders and combat trike out- yet if I say wanted a vehicle/rifle PE, there's no way i'd be able to cut that as a setup. 85 STR and enough DEX to wear PA and get decent stats on the rifles just isn't going to happen.
Strength requirements on vehicles make little sense- you're operating a platform attached to a plane, therefore vehicle skills are all you need, perhaps some H-C to know how to load it, and maybe helped by RCL as you're not sighting down the barrel.
So- is the vehicle balancing as far as skills and damage goes getting looked at? Because right now, to my untrained and horribly-uneducated-in-the-realm-of-balancing eyes, it's a bit off. O_o
Just my 0.02p. Do shout if i'm missing something obvious.
